MAGGIE SINER

About Maggie Siner

For over 30 years an inspiring painter, teacher and mentor, Maggie Siner offers university level courses and private workshops across America and abroad.

Her rigorous and stimulating approach focuses on visual perception and learning to see, honestly approaching our own preconceptions in order to open to a wider world of experience

She also teaches from a lively dialogue with great painters of the past and across many centuries. Using various direct painting methods, some traditionally derived and others created from her painting experience, Siner brings into clarity the critical issues of painting, offering students the groundwork for a lifetime of creative growth and the motivation to continue developing their individual forms of expression.

Siner received her BFA from Boston University and MFA from American University. As well as being a painter and sculptor, she has studied medicine and anatomy. Siner has spent much of her life in southern France, Italy and China. Her work is exhibited in Venice, Paris, New York, Washington DC, Saint Paul de Vence, Atlanta, Boston, etc., and her paintings are in collections around the world. Teaching experience includes American University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Lacoste School of the Arts (Cleveland Institute of Art), Xiamen University in China, Institute d'Universités Américaines in Aix-en-Provence and the Washington Studio School among others.
